Shaheen Jafargholi gets a standing ovation in Britain's Got Talent (with Video)

Out of the hundreds and hundreds of acts Simon Cowell sees both on The X Factor and on Britain’s Got Talent, there aren’t many that make him jump out of his chair and give a rapturous applause.

12 year-old Shaheen Jafargholi did at his Cardiff audition… second time of asking!

Like all good Welsh singers Shaheen started young, and has been entertaining his family and friends with his beautiful voice since he was an even smaller nipper than he is now!

He decided to sing Amy Winehouse’s Valerie as it’s one of his grandad’s favourite songs, but no sooner was he one verse into the number when Simon raised his hand and asked him to stop.

“You’ve got this really wrong,” he told him: “what do you sing apart from that?”

A look of bewilderment crosses the young lad’s face before he answers: “Who’s Loving You, by Michael Jackson.”

The new track is loaded and Shaheen bursts into song for the second time. On this occasion it is much more to Simon’s liking, as he taps his finger to the beat and grins ear to ear like a Cheshire cat.

It is not long before the whole audience are up on their feet cheering and hollering their approval. At the song’s finale all three judges stand and applaud the schoolboy, the feeling that something special had taken place was felt by all.

“This is how one song can change your life,” says Simon: “This may be the start of something special for you young man.”

Piers agrees wholeheartedly stating: “You have just proved that Wales has got talent!”

“I do the goosebump test,” Amanda tells him: “I got it with Paul Potts, I got it with George Sampson, and I got it with you!”

A delighted Shaheen exits the stage straight into his mother’s arms for a well deserved cuddle, hoping he can become the second Welshman to win Britain’s favourite talent show.
